Georgetown University Alumni History
Two former US presidents, Bill Clinton, and Lyndon Johnson are among its alumni, as are several other heads of state, including Spain’s King Felipe VI. Georgetown University was founded in 1789 on a hilltop overlooking the Potomac River by John Carroll, the United States’ first bishop, and archbishop. It was awarded its first bachelor’s degree in 1817. First-Year Admissions Application for Fall 2022 at Georgetown University
We recommend that you start your application as soon as possible so that we can open your admissions file and track any documents you send in support of your application. To learn more about the Georgetown application process, go to the General Information page for first-year applicants. We recommend that you read the Information for Applicants document for important information about the 2022 application process.
Step One: Fill out and submit the Georgetown Application in a few minutes. It should only take you ten to fifteen minutes to complete this task. Please submit this form as soon as possible so that your official admissions file can be created. After that, they’ll keep track of any documents or standardized testing you’ve sent in support of your application and connect them to it. In addition, the application kicks off the alumni interview process.
Step Two – You will receive an email with instructions on how to create your application account within 24 hours of submitting the Georgetown Application. After you’ve created an account, you’ll be able to complete and submit your Georgetown Application Supplement, as well as send email requests for your required recommendations to your College Counselor and Teacher(s).
Step three – Once you’ve logged into your account, click the link to continue your application for the upcoming academic year. Please read the entire instruction page before moving on to the request for recommendation form. Please note that the email addresses of your high school counselor and recommending teacher(s) are required on the recommendation form so that an email requesting your supporting documents can be sent to them automatically. Please complete this section as soon as you have your recommenders’ correct contact information.

Through their experiences serving their communities, former Jesuit Volunteers bring unique and valuable perspectives to the classroom. Staff Association of the World Bank Members accepted into Georgetown SCS’s Master of Professional Studies and Executive Master of Professional Studies degree programs are eligible for a tuition discount for each semester they are enrolled. All Master of Professional Studies (MPS) and Executive Master of Professional Studies (EMPS) programs, as well as Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (BALS) and Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) programs, are eligible. During each semester in which they are registered for classes, current World Bank Staff Association members are eligible for a 10% tuition discount.
Students must submit a letter from the World Bank Staff Association at the beginning of each term certifying that they are still a World Bank employee and a member in good standing of the World Bank Staff Association in order to receive the tuition discount. 4. LaFarge BALS Scholarship
Each academic year, the LaFarge Scholarship awards three scholarships: one to a Montgomery College student, another to a Northern Virginia Community College student, and yet another to a Prince George’s Community College student. The two LaFarge Scholarships provide each recipient with a 50% tuition discount for the duration of their time as a degree-seeking student in Georgetown’s Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies program, as long as they maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in Georgetown courses. The Rev. John LaFarge Jr, SJ, was a Jesuit priest from the United States. He worked as an editor and writer for the Jesuit magazine America for many years. 5. Osher Reentry BALS Scholarship
The Osher Reentry Scholarship, which awards up to $5,000 per academic year to both newly admitted and current students in the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies program, is open to both new and returning students. The Osher Reentry Scholarship is for students who:
