Isreal Students Visa 2021

An Israeli student’s Visa is an authorization to enter Israel and remain here for a specific permitted period. It also underlines the activities that you can perform while you are in Israel with a visa.

Immigration visa

A/1 Temporary Resident visa

A/2 Student visa

A/3 Clergy visa

A/4 visa for spouses and children

B/1 Work visa

To study in Israel, you will need a student visa (A/2 visa). Isreal Students Visa applications should be submitted to the Israeli embassy or consulate in your home country. Once granted, the visa is valid for up to one year and allows for multiple entrances and exits from the country.

A/2 Student visa

This visa is granted to those who want to study in Israel in academic institutions, elementary and high schools, yeshivot, and youth institutions of the Jewish Agency. The visa is valid for up to one year and is okay for multiple entrances and exits. However, Recipients of this visa are not permitted to work in Israel.

An Isreal Students visa is granted to students who provide the following:

  • Completed and signed application for a visa to enter Israel 
  • Two passport pictures (5×5 cm)
  • A formal letter of acceptance for studies from a recognized higher education institution in Israel
  • Proof that the student has the financial means to pay for his studies and sustenance throughout his stay in Israel
  • A travel document that is valid for at least one year, provided that his country has a diplomatic mission in the State of Israel. If there is no such mission in Israel, the passport must be valid for the entire period of studies and another six months beyond that time

Who Can Apply for A/2 Student Visa?

Anyone admitted into an educational institution in Israel that has the required documents to prove it to the Israeli embassy in their country of residence, can apply for an Israeli student visa. This includes those admitted to elementary and high schools, academic institutions, yeshivot, and youth institutions of the Jewish Agency.

However, an applicant should bear in mind that he/she will not be eligible to apply for an A/2 Student Visa for Israel if they have Israeli parents (e.g. an Ezrach Oleh). According to the law, those who qualify for Israeli citizenship must apply for an Israeli passport.

When to Apply for an A/2 Student Visa?

An applicant or anyone Intending to apply for an Israeli student visa is required to check when it is the best time to apply in their country of residence. One reason why many applications fail is that they are filed too early or too late.

Application for an A/2 Visa to study in Israel should be filed between one to two months before the date planned to enter the country of Israel.

Where to submit an A/2 Visa Application?

Submitting your application depends on how the Israeli authorities have regulated visa application submission in your country of residence. Yet, an applicant can apply at the visa section of one of the following:

  • The Embassy of Israel
  • A Consulate of Israel
  • A third-party visa processing center to which Israel has outsourced visa admission
