The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that Registration for the 2023 academic year has started. This is good news for candidates planning to sit for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry examination.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration will occur nationwide in 700 Computer-Based Tests (CBT) centers.

Candidates can check their eligibility for chosen programs and institutions on www.jamb.gov.ng/ibass. It is important that candidates check the requirements before starting the application process. Kindly note that the University of Ibadan is not admitting candidates for the 2023/2024 session. Candidates are therefore advised not to choose the University in this 2023/2024 registration.

JAMB 2023 Registration and Exam Date

For candidates who will be taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the sales of the 2023 JAMB forms and the beginning of the 2023 JAMB registration (JAMB registration starting date 2023) will begin on February 12, 2023.

The closing date for JAMB registration for 2023 is on the 26th of March, 2023.

The JAMB examination for 2023 will commence beginning May 6th to May 16th, 2023.

Meanwhile, it is important to quickly point out that it is now compulsory for applicants to supply their National Identity Number (NIN) before they can register for the 2023 JAMB examinations.

The registration fees for JAMB 2023 registration is N4,700 (four thousand, seven hundred naira) for both UTME and DE candidates while the approved CBT service charge is N700 (seven hundred naira).

JAMB Criteria and Eligibility for 2023 Candidates

How to Register for JAMB 2023

To register for the 2023 JAMB examination, follow the simple steps below. Note that you will also need to visit any of the accredited JAMB registration centers to fill and complete the registration form online.

Registration Steps:

  • Get Ready an E-mail Account: The first basic step to start with is to create/or get ready a valid email address. JAMB recommends Gmail for quick delivery and alternatively Yahoo mail. This is to enable you to send or receive information from Jamb on the examination exam.
  • Get your NIN: It is now compulsory that you get your National Identification Number before you proceed to register for the 2023 UTME.
  • Create your Jamb Profile: Proceed to gov.ng/Efacility and click on the ‘Sign up for UTME/DE’ button to create your Jamb profile. It is compulsory to register your Jamb profile before you buy the 2023 registration form. You will need it to proceed with the exam registration, checking your result online, checking admission status, the printing of admission letters, etc.
  • Check Jamb iBass: According to Jamb, it is recommended that check your eligibility before you proceed to register for the 2023 UTME examination.
  • Purchase an e-PIN: Proceed to any participating bank nationwide (see list below) and/or other selling points to buy your Jamb 2023 E-pin registration.
  • Visit Accredited CBT Centre: Proceed to any accredited CBT centers with your personal details, Jamb profile, and e-PIN or Code to complete your registration.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  1. All candidates must mandatorily register their profiles through text messages as illustrated above before proceeding to buy the ePIN
  2. The registration fee is non-refundable
  3. As it is the practice, centers are allowed to charge not more than Seven Hundred Naira (700) only as a registration fee. Any center that charges more than Seven Hundred Naira (700) should be reported to JAMB for appropriate sanctions
  4. All CBT centers have been mandated to select any of the participating banks, MMOs, MFBs, etc. These financial institutions are to be present at the CBT centers for the purpose of collecting all No CBT center staff is allowed to conduct direct cash transaction with the candidates
  5. Candidates are advised to read and understand the guidelines on admission and instructions on how to complete the online registration before commencing the process of registration
  6. Multiple registrations are not Candidates who register more than once will be identified and disqualified
  7. Candidates should note that they must be present and take live photographs that will be embossed on their result slips and admission letters. No scanned/stapled passport photograph is allowed
  8. Candidates are to note that irrespective of their choice of the program of study, they will also be tested on a general text “The Life Changer” by Khadija Abubakar Jali for UTME Candidates and DE candidates are also expected to read the text.
  9. Candidates/Officials would not be allowed to enter into the examination center with a wristwatch, Phone, electronic device, or any pen/biro. Only the common pencil is allowed.
  10. Candidates are warned that JAMB does not require or authorize ANY cyber cafe services or establishments other than the accredited CBT centers for this exercise.

JAMB Mock Examination

The Board will also conduct an optional mock examination in all the accredited CBT centers to prepare and familiarise INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment. Interested candidates are advised to indicate their interest in the mock examination during registration.

The date for the MOCK examination for 2023 has not been announced yet.

Non-JAMB CBT Centres are allowed to collect, through their bank accounts, a separate Seven Hundred Naira (₦700) only, for mock exercise from only interested candidate(s) after notification of center has been received by the candidate(s). The payment for the mock examination by the candidate shall be made to the center to which the candidate is assigned after the notification of assigned centers for the mock examination. No Association or body is permitted to run any mock examination on behalf of JAMB.

CAVEAT: DO NOT PAY FOR MOCK UNTIL JAMB ASSIGNS YOU TO A CBT CENTRE. NO ONE SHOULD PATRONISE FRAUDSTERS. ONLY JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES CAN SERVE AS EXAMINATION CENTRES
