Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus was formed in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney. At first, the organization funded women and children, following the tremendous need that arose in his poverty-stricken parish, and subsequently became a Catholic charitable and fraternal organization that gives away close to a million dollars annually in scholarships.

The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world today and holds influence as high as the White House and the Vatican. It boasts two million members and has chapters throughout the world, including Mexico, Canada, and the Philippines.
