Admission
International undergraduate students are expected to apply to MIT at the beginning of their final year of high school. The 2020 first-year application is now closed but the 2021 application will be available online in August.
SAT or ACT test is required. For non-native English applicants, MIT strongly recommends taking the TOEFL if you’ve only used English for less than 5 years or do not speak it at home or in school. Postgraduate degree applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a reputed university and submit their CV/resume, GRE score, letters of recommendation, TOEFL/IELTS scores and transcripts and apply through the online portal.
The first step for applying to MIT as an undergraduate this fall is to fill out the“ Tell us about yourself” form. The rest of the process is meant to be completed online.
