McGill University Tuition and Fees

At McGill University, tuition fees depend on the program; whether in arts and sciences. It may be annually charged CA$2,455.50 for residents of Quebec. And CA$7,631.70 for non-Quebec Canadians pay, and CA$16,815.60 for international students (2021 figures).

At the graduate level, all students can enroll in a full-time master’s program for the same price as their undergraduate fees, while international students pay CA$15,093.60 for PhDs.

Scholarships Available for McGill Students 2021

Centrally-Administered Entrance Scholarships

McGill Office of Scholarships and Student Aid offers merit-based entrance scholarships to new university/college students who enroll in a full-time undergraduate degree program.

However, transfer, mature, diploma, exchange, special, part-time and visiting students are not eligible for entrance scholarships.

There are two types of Centrally-Administered Entrance Scholarships:

One-year Entrance Scholarships (value: $3,000)

Major Entrance Scholarships (value: $3,000, $5,000, $10,000 or $12,000 renewable)

McGill Admission Requirements 

Undergraduate Requirements

Undergraduate requirements depend on the type of institution one chooses which are usually in the form of prerequisites and assessments guiding the processes involved in a certain university to offer an academic degree. 

For admission into the undergraduate level, the student must have completed twelve years of academic education, while for the postgraduate level, it is sixteen years.

All applicants into undergraduate programs must submit:

  • A completed application form;
  • An official high school transcript (or attested copy) (if applicable);
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (if any);
  • A detailed chronological résumé to demonstrate educational achievements, work experience, progression, community involvement, volunteer experience, and other related experience; and
  • A Letter of Intent (LOI) that clearly explains why the applicant is applying and outlines the student’s academic intentions.

Applicants who completed high school or any post-secondary study outside Canada must also submit:

  • Documentation confirming their high school completion was awarded, if not already indicated on official transcripts; and
  • Proof of English language proficiency.

Applicants may need to show english language efficiency by means of English Language tests.

IELTS is the most widely recognized and accepted English proficiency test in Canada despite the fact that some other universities and colleges accept TOEFL. The score obtained in these language tests varies from institution to institution and course of study.

Other universities might as well seek for another medium of English language test assessment. MBAstudents may be asked for two years of work experience before being admitted to the university. In most of the cases, GMAT is compulsory for MBA students.
