Content Types for the Google UX Design professional Certificate on Coursera

To assist teachers, Coursera maintains a platform that provides various learning content. Google uses these specific ones in this course:

  • Short video courses range in length from 3 to 9 minutes and feature one person speaking and occasionally showing you things.
  • A lengthy reading page that occasionally links to other online articles (with a lot of UX Collective articles on Medium)
  • Shot page of reading with links to external readings, again.
  • Self-evaluated exercises.
  • Reflection on these exercises by yourself. (a form that you must fill out with at least one character, but it is not required)
  • Embedded polls or forms, as well as presentations that you must read and validate in some way
  • Exercising that has been peer-reviewed.

Exams for the Google UX Design Certificate

You must complete all seven courses and pass all exams to become a Google UX Designer. There is no final exam for this certificate, but each course has several graded assignments. Some of the assignments are in the form of a multiple-choice quiz, but most of them are written assignments and various designs (wireframes, prototypes, mockups, etc.). You’ll have to review and grade other students’ assignments as part of the graded work. You can submit all of your work online and avoid taking any classroom exams.

Unbiased Review on the Google UX Design professional Certificate on Coursera

First, you’ll learn everything there is to know about UX Design, including where you might work, what it’s like to work in the field, and so on. You’ll also learn how to follow the design process from the ground up, empathize with users, define pain points, come up with solutions, create wireframes and prototypes, and test and iterate on the design. Then you’ll learn the fundamentals of UX research, such as how to plan research studies, conduct interviews, and usability tests, and synthesize research findings. This section of the course, in my opinion, was extremely beneficial. There aren’t many courses that go as deep into research as this certificate, so take advantage of it. You’ll also learn how to apply fundamental user-centered design, accessibility, and equity-focused design concepts.

Finally, you will make a professional user experience portfolio with three end-to-end projects, a mobile app, a responsive website, and a cross-platform experience. You will be responsible for many assignments, and another student will evaluate your work. You will also evaluate another student’s assignments because you do not have mentors to evaluate your work within the Google UX certificate. This is beneficial because you will feel compelled to complete the activity to advance in the certificate. You won’t feel alone either because you’ll be able to see how other students are doing and receive feedback from activities. The disadvantage is that it will not be from a professional. My advice to anyone who is just getting started with the certificate is to be patient.

First and foremost, do not rush through the course; take your time and make sure you watch all of the videos and read all of the recommended articles. Begin your portfolio at the beginning of the course; it may seem strange to begin a portfolio when you have no idea what to put in it. However, stick to the process and do what the course suggests. If you’re stuck on how to make a case, search for “UX Design case” on Medium, and you’ll find a slew of examples to get you started. If you aren’t working with real users, you will miss out on the chance to witness the magic of UX when you realize that empathizing becomes easier and more rewarding as you get to know your users.

The Google certificate won’t go into great detail about user interface design, so try to learn as much as you can, practice a lot, and participate in the UI challenge. And gather as much information as possible; there are many free videos on Youtube about Figma and other tools. Just make sure you have a fantastic UI design to show off on your finished product. Also, while honing your skills, don’t be afraid to copy professional designs. Enjoy the freebie libraries and read the material design guide. Here are a few ideas to get you started: Freebies Ui; FigmaCrush. While the Google UX certificate teaches you a lot and allows you to work alone, UX Design is all about teamwork, so if you have the opportunity to work with a group, take advantage of it. Of course, the course is now also costly.

What is the Google UX Design Certificate’s difficulty level?

It’s not difficult to obtain a Google UX Design certificate. It’s an entry-level certification for students who have never worked with web design before. The certificate begins by explaining what user experience design is and how it works. It contains numerous examples and practical assignments to assist you in fully comprehending each topic. Not the lessons but the ability to come up with creative design solutions to solve people’s problems is the most difficult part.  You’ll learn how to conduct research, conduct usability studies, and create prototypes in this course, but you won’t learn how to come up with a good idea.

This course can help you turn your creativity into a mobile or web design if you’re a creative person. If you don’t think you’re as creative as others, you’ll have a harder time finishing this course and finding work as a web designer. In this case, you might want to think about a career in digital marketing. It is not necessary to deal with designs to become a digital marketer; rather, it is more about using strategies and techniques to promote a product or brand online. Conclusion

Have you ever used a website that required you to go through a lengthy registration process? Or perhaps you switched from a desktop to a mobile device and were perplexed as to what had happened to the layout? If that’s the case, you’ve most likely been reminded of this simple fact; user experience designers make the world a better place. Studies have repeatedly shown that a product’s success in the marketplace is directly proportional to its user experience. This means that UX designers make a positive difference in people’s lives and contribute significantly to business growth. That’s not all, though.

A large number of job opportunities available in the field of user experience is one of the most exciting aspects of getting into it. While the demand for UX designers continues to rise, there is currently a scarcity of qualified UX designers to fill those positions. As a result, studying UX design provides you with a concrete set of skills that employers are eager to hire for right now.
