Undergraduate Admission Process

Undergraduate admissions at Harvard involves a lot of processes that could be confusing at times.

All first-year applicants – both international and U.S applicants – must complete the common application, the University College Application, or the Coalition Application along with the required supplements. You will need to submit:

  • Common Application, Coalition Application, or Universal College Application
  • Harvard College Questions for the Common Application, Coalition Application, or the Universal College Application Harvard supplement
  • $75 fee (or request a fee waiver)
  • ACT or SAT (with or without writing)
  • 2 SAT Subject Tests (recommended, except in the case of financial hardship)
  • Optional: AP or other examination results
  • School Report and high school transcript
  • Teacher Report (2)
  • Midyear School Report (after your first semester grades)
  • Final School Report (for admitted students only)

Postgraduate Admissions Process

Admissions into Harvard postgraduate studies require applicants to have or will have by the time of matriculation, a BA, BS, or equivalent undergraduate degree (for prospective international students, a three- or four-year undergraduate degree from an institution of recognized standing). Most especially, applicants underrepresented in graduate schools are historically accepted. 

Applicants who hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent, or are an advanced doctoral candidate at another institution, may also apply to a Ph.D. program only if it is in an unrelated field of study.

Harvard University Courses

Harvard University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate programs. It’s important to have decided on a program to study before applying for Harvard university scholarships.

Undergraduate courses

Undergraduate programs at Harvard University include African and African American Studies, Anthropology, Applied Mathematics, Applied Mathematics (including secondary field), Astrophysics, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical, and Physical Biology, Chemistry and lots more.

SAT or ACT with Writing, as well as two SAT Subject Tests are required by undergraduate applicants to study a course at Harvard University. Official test scores should be submitted directly to Harvard by the testing agency on the applicant’s behalf. If Harvard does not receive your official scores from the testing agency, they will be unable to make an admissions decision.

Despite that Harvard honors the College Board’s Score Choice program and allows applicants to submit tests taken as late as January for consideration, yet students are advised to be Regular Decision candidates by completing and submitting at least one component of the required tests (SAT or ACT with Writing or two College Board Subject Tests) by the end of November. This will allow them to begin their evaluation process for those submitting applications by December 15.

Graduate Courses

Harvard University Graduate program courses include Advanced Graduate Education, African and African American Studies, Anthropology, Applied Math, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics. Astronomy, Biology, Immunology, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning, and lots more.

Doctoral Courses
