Fully known as the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship, the RBC scholarships in Canada 2021 aims at rewarding hardworking Canadian students with a critical need for funding across Canada. The scholarship was created by RBC, the Royal Bank of Canada.

About 79,000 full- and part-time employees are employed by RBC to serve over 16 million personal, business, public sector, and institutional clients through offices in Canada, the U.S and 38 other countries. Community initiatives through donations, sponsorships, and employee volunteer activities are supported by the RBC in Canada. It contributed over $111 million to causes worldwide, including community investments and donations of over $76 million and $35 million in sponsorships.

The RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship was created to recognize the growing number of Canadian students who are passionate to invest in their education, lead and inspire positive change in their community. A total of fifteen (15) RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships worth $10,000 each is awarded by the RBC. 

Seven of the scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in any year of post-secondary studies and eight scholarships awarded to graduating high school students and. Applying students are also eligible for all 15 scholarships, but 3 scholarships per student category (a total of 6) is reserved exclusively for RBC Royal Bank student clients. 175 bursaries for $1,000 is also awarded to help Canadian post-secondary students.

Every year, RBC provides over $550,000 scholarships, which includes the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships, RBC Aboriginal Student Awards Program and Scholarship Program for the Children of RBC Employees.

Scholarship Worth

RBC Students Leading Change Scholarships Award is worth $10,000 available for 15 lucky candidates.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the RBC scholarship in fall 2021, students will have to be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution and are eligible to apply. Students who fall into any of the 2 categories below are eligible to apply:

  • 1st Category (Graduating High School or CEGEP): Any student currently enrolled in their graduating year in a Canadian High School or CEGEP, or have graduated from a Canadian High School or CEGEP within the last 2 years, and will be enrolled in their first year of a minimum 2-year undergraduate degree or diploma program on a full-time basis at a recognized publicly-funded Canadian university or college in the fall 2020 academic term.
  • 2nd Category (Undergraduate or Graduate Degree or Diploma): Any student currently enrolled in a diploma program or degree on a full-time basis in a publicly-funded Canadian college or university and planning to continue full-time studies in fall 2020. Students must already have at least 2 years of full-time studies left in their degree or diploma program.
  • Any student with a disability who attends or plans to attend post-secondary school on a part-time basis in fall 2021 is eligible.

Level/Field of Study:

To qualify for the RBC scholarship, students must be an RBC Royal Bank client till the end of the winner announcement date. 7 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in any year of post-secondary studies and 8 awarded to graduating high school students.

It is compulsory that all applicants must Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents with a minimum 75% average in their last completed year of study.

How to Apply

To help students achieve their goals through hard work and educational funding, RBC is glad to announce the opening of its application process for the RBC Students Leading Change Scholarship 2021.

Applications are now open and available online and students are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline. Winners of the RBC Scholarship are selected based on their excellence in academics, and most especially, civic and volunteer engagement. Eligibility: Must be Status and non-status Indians, Inuit or Métis and pursuing post-secondary education

Award: 10 different awards worth up to $4,000 each academic year for two to four years

The RBC Capital Markets Diversity Scholarship

Eligibility: Students who identify as a visible minority, female, Veterans, aboriginal or Indigenous background, LGBT+, and/or persons with disabilities. Also for students in full-time undergraduate studies graduating in December 2021 or Spring 2022 and currently enrolled in a business, engineering or economics program at a university or college in Canada.

Application Opens: Friday, April 12, 2021 , and ends Friday, May 31, 2021, 11:59 PM EST

Award: 4 awards worth $5,000 each AND a 2021 summer analyst position with RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.

The RBC Capital Markets Scholarship for Women

Eligibility: Female students in full-time undergraduate studies graduating in December 2021 or Spring 2022, currently enrolled in a business, engineering or economics program at a university or college in Canada.

Application Opens: Friday, April 12, annually and ends Friday, May 31, annually, 11:59 PM EST

Award: 4 awards worth $5,000 each AND a 2021 summer analyst position with RBC Capital Markets in Toronto.

RBC Award

Eligibility: High School students in Grade 12 in Atlantic Canada, Saskatchewan, Northern Ontario, and Manitoba, who will be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution in fall 2021. Nominations are to be submitted by the high school Administration (e.g. Principal, Vice Principal or Guidance Counselor).

Award: 175 bursaries for $1,000 each will be awarded to post-secondary students AND an opportunity for an RBC internship.
