Byu Hawaii Scholarships Current & Returning Student
The university grades the scholarship based on several policies such as:
- University Merit Scholarship Policy

The student is automatically eligible for the scholarship after completing a semester at BYU-Hawaii. To receive a scholarship, the student must be enrolled in at least 14 credit hours for the fall and winter classes and 9 credit hours for the spring semester.
Byu Hawaii Admissions
Students who have been on LDS missions pay less for Byu Hawaii tuition than non-LDS students. But, being a member of LDS is not a requirement for attendance. Students are basically expected to have had at least an ACT score of 26 or SAT score of 1130 or above B average in high school. Non-native English speakers must receive a 5.5 on IELTS, a 61 or higher on the IBT TOEFL (500 on the paper test), or 75+ on the Michigan language test.
Also, BYU-Hawaii has over 1,039 international students from 70 different countries, a higher percentage of international students than any other high school in the United States. This represents approximately 43 percent of the total enrollment. About 97% of the student body is SUD. Byu Hawaii Scholarships for Freshman Applicants
New students are to submit the Byu Hawaii admission application by the appropriate application deadlines.
- Students should apply for the term or semester for which they wish to attend. Requests to change at the beginning of the semester may not be accommodated.
- Applicants will have to submit a transcript for any concurrent college credit received.(BYU will only accept official US-accredited transcripts without an evaluation)
- Any international work must be submitted through WES or IERF.
- BYU does not admit applicants who will be less than 17 years of age by the first day of class. This is because of the level of social, intellectual, and emotional maturity required of university students.
New /Transfer Students
All newly transferred students to BYU–Hawaii will need to be enrolled full-time in their first semester, and earn at least 9 credits for Spring semester and 14 credits for Fall and Winter semesters at BYU–Hawaii to be eligible for the academic merit scholarship.
Transfer Student with fewer than 24 graded credits will be required to submit transcripts of any university/college work previously completed in addition to your high school work. An SAT or ACT score will be required.
Transfer Student with 24 or more graded credits are also required to submit transcripts of any university/college work you have completed.
