E-learning which encompasses the use of digital/electronic technologies to aid learning has greatly impacted the learning process positively as these days distance is not a barrier to getting quality and world-class education. Also, E-Learning has afforded students the luxury to study at their own pace.

In this present upwardly mobile era, E-learning has continuously proved to be a very strategic education solution as we continue seeing loads of people embracing E-Learning on a daily basis. In these times of the COVID-19 pandemic education in some countries is not affected. Thanks to the deployment of E-Learning solutions by such governments. 10. Review of Skillshare:

The New York-based Online learning platform is subscription-based and specially developed for those who strictly want to learn from educational videos. The majority of the courses on Skillshare focuses on interaction. A wide variety of courses are offered on skillshare ranging from Animation, Design, Lifestyle, illustration, photo and film production, business, and writing. The E-learning platform primarily focuses on real-life projects and offers a  30-day refund policy. With Skillshare you can choose to learn on the go with the offline access on your mobile app.

You can join the platform either as a teacher or a student.

Is skillshare free? Skillshare is available for free, for a premium subscription, and for teams. There are three premium and team packages available with a one-month free trial. The monthly package costs $15 per month, while the annual plan is $8.25 per month

Lynda.com was founded in 1995, and is now one of the leading providers of video courses, with contents on a wide range of subjects. In 2015, it was acquired by  LinkedIn. Interestingly, LinkedIn themselves have since been bought by Microsoft. All Lynda courses are now part of the LinkedIn Learning platform.

Accreditation and Certificate: Lynda LinkedIn Learning is not accredited but Certificates of Completion are certifications you earn for the courses you have completely watched on Lynda.com. Upon completion of a course, a certificate is automatically generated that can be viewed online and shared.

8. Review of  Edx :

EdX is a transformational partnership in online education between The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University to offer online university courses with Certificate to millions of people around the world. Today, several other world-class universities offer online courses on edX.

Is edx Free? Except for professional education courses, there is no cost for taking edX courses when you enroll in the audit track, which does not offer certificates or provide graded assignments. However, if you want to be able to earn a verified certificate for a course and complete assignment, there is a fee that will vary depending on the course. The fees for the verified track usually range between $50 USD and $300 USD.

Accreditation and Certificate: Most of the Courses on edx are accredited by universities and training programs, including Harvard and Georgia Tech. They also offer certificates which are recognized by their respective industry.

This is absolutely a top-notch learning platform with over 35,000 educational contents, you definitely can’t go wrong with Thinkific.  The Canada-based E-learning platform was launched over 11 years ago by Greg Smith who found himself capped when teaching a weekend LSAT course. He struggled with ways to improve the learning experience for his current audience while also building a profitable business to reach more students. This led to the birth of Thinkific.

The Learnworlds platform perfectly complements course content with immense social learning and high interaction.

Learnworlds boasts of  impressive features like tools to build sales pages (for content creators), simulators, intelligent sales engine, advanced analytics, etc. They certainly deserve premium positioning.

When it comes to selecting a very good E-Learning solution, Learnworlds is a very good option. Currently, the platform charges $5 per sale for creators and monthly subscriptions start from $24 per month for students.

5. Review of Udacity:

Udacity is a MOOC-based platform. MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Courses. Udacity provides an online learning experience to anyone that would wish to sign up on the website and start learning. Founded in 2011, Udacity is a spin-off of free computer science classes that were at that time offered at Standford University.

Udacity Nanodegree. The Nanodegree that Udacity offers is a form of learning where you pay a payment each month and study a particular subject for around 6-12 months, after which you receive a certificate of completion.

Is Udacity free? Udacity has around 200 courses that are completely free. However, Udacity’s Nanodegrees (micro-credentials exclusive to Udacity) are completely paid. These Nanodegrees currently cost $399 per month, or you can pay for several months upfront for a reduced amount.

Accreditation and Certificate:  Udacity is a private online education provider that is not accredited and does not confer any degrees. However, it offers certificates to those who complete any of it’s Nanodegrees.

This is unarguably the best E-Learning platform for IT-related courses especially coding. I can vividly remember I learned my first programming language on Codecademy and it was a fantastic experience. On Codecademy, the emphasis is laid on web development, programming, and computer science as well as data science courses. It is a very easy-to-use platform, navigation is seamless and they offer really good plans, including the free one. There is also a paid premium subscription.

Is Codecademy free? All the courses on Codecademy are free. However, CodeCademy offers a “pro” option that allows tailored lessons and tutorials for the user as well as live tutoring and this costs $15 per month.

Accreditation and Certificate: Codecademy is not accredited, However, as part of completing Codecademy’s Pro Intensive, you’ll earn a Codecademy Credential, a digital letter of completion that acknowledges your earned progress throughout the program.

Also, one great thing about Udemy is that the prices for their courses are very reasonable compared to other E-learning platforms. Another good thing about Udemy is that they offer a certificate of completion for all their available courses.

Is Udemy free? Courses on Udemy ranges from $9 to $300. This is entirely at the discretion of whoever is offering the course.

Accreditation and Certificate: Most of Udemy courses aren’t accredited by any educational or governing body however, you will get a certificate at the end of most courses.

Khan Academy has proven that you can learn anything online. they offer a wide variety of simplified courses ranging from math, science and engineering, computing, arts and humanities, economics and finance. Strictly adapted for early education the most amazing thing about this E-learning platform is that it is absolutely free.
