Union Plus Scholarship Program

The Union Plus Scholarship Program 2023 is offered through the Union Plus Education Foundation, which is sponsored by Union Privilege. The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students of U.S. accredited colleges, universities, community colleges, and technical or trade schools. It has awarded more than $4.3 million to students of working families who want to begin or continue their post-secondary education, since 1991.

Union Plus aims to help current and retired labor union members and their families to save money and support them through major milestones, celebrations, and hardships. The Union Plus will provide scholarships ranging from $500 to $4,000 for the selected candidate. Current and retired members of unions that participate in any Union Plus program, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations) can apply for a Union Plus Scholarship. Grandchildren are not eligible unless a legal dependent (as defined by IRS regulations). At least one year of continuous union membership by the applicant, applicant’s spouse or parent (if applicant is a dependent). The one year membership minimum must be satisfied by May 31, 2023.
