University of Manchester Admission 2021

Like many other top Universities in the United Kingdom, there are some basic things needed as key requirements for entrance into the University of Manchester.

More students apply to Manchester than to any other university in the country, with more than 55,000 applications for undergraduate courses in 2014 resulting in 6.5 applicants for every available place. Manchester had the 17th highest average entry qualification for undergraduates of any UK university in 2015. In 2015, the university gave offers of admission to 73.4% of its applicants.

The University has the following as basic admission requirements;

Application documents

Make sure you have all your supporting documents scanned and ready to upload. Documents vary by course, so always check the academic department website for which specific documents are needed. Required documents required usually include:

  • Evidence of qualifications (certificates or transcripts) to show that you meet or expect to meet the entry requirements;
  • Evidence of English language ability, if English is not your first language (please note that some English language test results are only valid for two years. Your English language test report must be valid on the start date of your course);
  • Two references – download our referee report form (PDF document, 50 KB);
  • A research proposal (for research programs only) – always check the department website for instructions and guidance as requirements vary;
  • A copy of your passport (if you will need a visa to study here).

Check the relevant academic department website for any additional documents you need to provide (for example, some courses may ask for a personal statement).

University of Manchester fees 2021

The tuition fees in most British universities, especially the top-ranking institutions, are expensive with some of them relatively cheaper. The University of Manchester tuition fee varies depending on the course and program applied for, whether you are from the UK or a citizen of another country.

Applicants may need to visit the school website to get more detailed information on the fees and its breakdown. However, the tuition fee on the average ranges between 9,250 GBP for local students and 21,000 GBP for international students.

The annual fees to attend Manchester University on a full-time basis for 2018 is $44,248 for all students regardless of their residency. This fee is comprised of $30,450 for tuition, $10,100 room and board, $1,000 for books and supplies and $1,210 for other fees.
