University of the Arts London (UAL) is a public collegiate university as a university in 2003 and took its present name in 2004 in London, England. 

The university specializes in arts, design, fashion, and the performing arts. UAL is a federation of six art colleges: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, the London College of Communication, the London College of Fashion, and the Wimbledon College of Arts.

In 2019, UAL was ranked number 2 for art and design in the QS World University Rankings and received an overall ranking of 84 out of 124 in the 2019 Complete University Guide league tables, down from 48th place in 2013 and 59th in the 2012 ranking. It scored 56.5 out of 100 for graduate prospects, and 3.94 out of 5 for student satisfaction with teaching.

UAL was ranked 75th in the 2019 Guardian University Guide and 21st out of 67 institutions in the Art subject table.

In order to be awarded the University of the Arts London tuition and accommodation scholarships, the candidate is required to apply to study a full-time taught master’s course at one of UAL’s six Colleges starting in the academic year of 2023/2024 The course applied must offer either an M ARCH, MA, MFA, MRes, or MSc qualification.

The following courses listed below do not qualify:

Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), Graduate Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Integrated Master (or any similar course that qualifies for undergraduate support from UK student finance agencies), EMBA, MBA, distance learning, blended learning, and online courses.

  • Criteria 1:

The student must currently hold an offer to study a full-time taught master’s course at one of UAL’s six Colleges starting in the academic year of 2023/2024. Your course must offer either an M ARCH, MA, MFA, MRes, or MSc qualification.

The following courses do not qualify: Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert), Graduate Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Integrated Masters (or any similar course that qualifies for undergraduate support from UK student finance agencies), EMBA, MBA, distance learning, blended learning, and online courses.

In addition, students who already hold a UK postgraduate taught qualification (or one at an equivalent level) from studies undertaken in the UK or abroad are not eligible to apply. Read more about the Previous Study for details.

  • Criteria 2:

You need to be a resident in one of the low-income economy countries or developing countries detailed in our list of qualifying countries (see below). G20 member countries have been excluded.

In your application, you’ll be asked to provide evidence with documentation that you are ordinarily resident in a developing country. For example, you may be asked for an ID card, a copy of your immigration documents, or formal evidence of your address.

You are presently an asylum seeker in the UK at the point of applying for the University of the Arts London tuition and accommodation scholarships.

  • Criteria 3:

Your annual household income must be £50,000 or less (or the equivalent exchange value in a qualifying country’s currency) at the point of the scholarship application.

The University of the Arts London tuition and accommodation scholarships provides a £30,000 award to cover tuition fee charges and make a contribution towards living costs. Scholarship recipients will also be offered International Students House (ISH) accommodation for the duration of their study.

After submitting a fully completed application for a qualifying course, the University of the Arts London will send you an email with details about how (if you meet the eligibility criteria) you can apply for a UAL International Postgraduate Scholarship.
