Basically, the University of Florida Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) administers the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace Engineering.
Recently, the MAE houses approximately 1,600 undergraduate students, of whom approximately 70% specialize in mechanical engineering (ME) and approximately 30% in aerospace engineering (AE).
In 2002, the undergraduate program was revised to promote synergy between the mechanical and aerospace undergraduate programs, while maintaining an emphasis on the unique characteristics of each degree.
Equally, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering administers the Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering (MSAE) and the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME), as well as the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering.
