Like all fully-funded Oxford scholarships, Clarendon Scholarships are competitive, prestigious and highly sought-after scholarships that cover all tuition and college fees and offer a generous grant for living costs. However, Clarendon’s additional appeal lies in its unique community of scholars.

Initially, the scholarship was for Overseas students. However, it expanded to accept students from the UK and the EU.

Clarendon Scholarship Value 

All Clarendon scholarships cover tuition and college fees in full. Scholars on a full-time course receive a generous annual grant for living costs, which is normally sufficient to cover the living costs of a single student living in Oxford.

In 2021, full-time students will receive at least £15,009. On the other hand, Clarendon scholars on a part-time course will receive a study support grant to help cover their non-fee costs.

In 2020, the scholarship provides at least £2,502 for part-time DPhil scholars and up to £5,003 for part-time Master’s scholars to cover their non-fee costs.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for the Clarendon Scholarship, you must fulfill the following:

  • Be applying for a course of your choice at Oxford University by the relevant January deadline.
  • Have an outstanding academic record. This means that you should have at least a first-class honors degree or its equivalent. Therefore, you must have a GPA of at least 3.7 on a 4.0 scale or an exceptional master’s degree.
  • Possess strong future potential and aptitude. This means that Clarendon will check to ensure that you have a strong desire to contribute significantly to your field of study.
