Columbia University accepts either the Coalition Application or the Common Application or the QuestBridge Application from QuestBridge Finalists. The applications should include:

For engineering applicants, one must come from a math or science teacher. 

An $85 nonrefundable fee is required as part of an application to Columbia University. We are unable to refund the application fee under any circumstances.

Postgraduate 

All prospective students must apply using the online application. To be eligible for admission, applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university by the date on which they enroll at the Columbia Graduate School.

Department, doctoral program subcommittee, or free-standing master’s degree program in which you wish to study must be specified in your application. If required, the sub-field of study and the term for which you are applying must be indicated. A complete application includes: 

• transcripts of all previous post-secondary education 
• a statement of academic purpose
• a curriculum vitae or résumé
• three letters of recommendation from academic sources 
• GRE scores and, if applicable, results of the TOEFL or IELTS examination to fulfill the English Proficiency Requirement
• a sample of scholarly writing, if required by the department or program
• payment of the application fee

Applicant must submit all materials directly, not through an agent or third-party vendor, and will be required to attest to the accuracy and authenticity of all information and documents submitted to Columbia University.

#1. Interschool Fellowships

“Institutional aid” are aid managed and awarded by Columbia University as a central entity or independently at each of the University schools. These interschool fellowships are need-based awards that are not restricted to students in one Columbia school or college. The annual amounts of these awards are generally between $1,000 to $5,000 and they are released in two even disbursements, at the start of the fall term and the start of the spring term.

This scholarship is available to graduate or undergraduate students and aims to benefit the children, adopted children, and step-children of the employees of Boston-based Houghton-Mifflin Company, its subsidiaries, or successor companies. The minimum amount is $1,000 for a school year and increases according to the needs of the candidate.
