#1 University of Georgia

#2 Washington & Jefferson College

Washington College was formed in 1782 and is situated in Washington, Pennsylvania. It merged with Jefferson College to become Washington & Jefferson College, a small liberal arts institution after the American Revolution during the Civil War.

Founder: Eleazar Wheelock
