ESSEC Business School History
Since its founding in 1907, ESSEC has never stopped innovating to meet future challenges. Seven students were enrolled in the initial class, and the first graduation directory was issued in 1926. Students began naming the successive student intakes at the School; the first, in 1937, was named after the pilot Jean Mermoz. 1966: Academic records and an interview were used to determine admission to the School. 1970: Female students are admitted to the school, with an admission exam held in 1972.
1973: ESSEC relocated from avenue d’Assas in Paris to the new town of Cergy-Pontoise. 1981: Cornell University and the Institute of International Hospitality Management collaborate to develop an MBA program in hospitality management (IMHI). 1985: The first Specialised Master’s program, a one-year program for higher education teaching graduates. The apprenticeship scheme is established in 1993. Professor Daniel Tixier establishes the first teaching and research chair in 1986.
ESSEC was the first business school to provide an apprenticeship program to its students. Singapore opened an Asian-Pacific track in 2014. The School began building on its own site at the start of the decade. Three primary thrusts will guide ESSEC’s development: innovation, engagement, and internationalization.

Essec Business school degrees
ESSEC Business School is a French institution of higher education different from, but parallel and connected to the main French public university system. ESSEC is one of the elite academic institutions that admit students through a very competitive admission process. The majority of Essec business school graduates occupy the highest levels of French society. The graduation style is similar to that of Ivy League schools in the United States, C9 League in China, and Oxbridge in the UK, whereby a student who graduates from a grande école is considered the prerequisite credential for any top position in France; whether government, corporate, and administrative.
Essec degrees are accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Écoles. They are awarded by the Ministry of National Education (France). In France, higher education business degrees are organized into three levels and each level facilitates international mobility. These include the Bachelor’s/Licence degrees, and Masters and Doctorate degrees. The bachelor’s and the Masters’s degrees are in semesters: 6 semesters for the Bachelor’s degree and 4 semesters for the Master’s degree. The courses and levels of study include many paths based on UE Modules. Each module is worth a defined number of European credits (ECTS). If you accumulate that amount of credits, which is transferrable between paths. A bachelor’s is awarded after the 180 ECTS have been obtained (bac + 3) while a Masters’s award is conferred after 120 additional credits have been obtained (bac +5). The highly coveted Grand Ecole Program (PGE) is concluded with a degree of Master’s in Management (MiM).

ESSEC Business School Application
Essec business school seeks the passionate and most exceptional, aspiring students. Therefore, a holistic approach is used by the admissions committees to choose the right applicants. The acceptance rate at Essec business school is 13.7% respectively.
To be an average applicant, you are expected to have a high academic record, high MCAT scores, and extracurricular activities that show how your experiences and interests inspired you to want to study any program or course in ESSEC.
Applicants are also required to submit letters of recommendation. If invited for an interview, you must also have an essay or personal statement as part of your secondary application that includes an open-ended question or prompt answer. The above requirements are necessary for applicants to ace the interview. Some other business schools exclude the Casper test amongst their similar requirements for the application process.
Below are the application processes.

The school must mark the reference letters if the referee does not have a professional mailbox.
Failure to send letters before the deadline will result in the candidate’s application being shifted to the following admission session.

the applications fees are:

Step 3: Submit your online application
The final step is to submit your online application when you’ve finished it and attached all of the necessary supporting documents.
STEP 4: Check if you have been shortlisted
The admissions committee will thoroughly examine your application. Every aspect of your application is considered. The outcome will be published online, and you will be able to access it through your application summary.
The results of the shortlisted candidates will be announced on the dates mentioned in the table above.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to schedule an interview on one of our campuses, at one of our regional offices, or through videoconference, if available.
The 30-minute interview will be conducted in front of two interviewers (a member of the ESSEC Faculty, a manager from the administrative staff at ESSEC, or a professional).
It’s your standard motivating interview. The goal is for you to be able to show your enthusiasm for the program and the institution, as well as your personality.
STEP 6: Get your results
After that, the panel will consider your entire application and make a decision, which will be presented to the Programme Director and the ESSEC Admissions Committee. In your application summary, the results will be published online.
