The Scholarship is awarded yearly to help students to pursue studies. To be eligible, you must be enrolled full-time at a four-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico at the time of the application.

Microsoft Diversity Conference Scholarship 2021

Each year, Microsoft awards tuition and conference scholarships to encourage students to further their learnings in Computer Science and related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) disciplines. Recipients for the scholarship will be awarded in recognition of their demonstrated passion for technology, academic excellence, and leadership while working to push the software industry forward.

However, students from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to pursue STEM fields of study as Microsoft greatly values a broad range of perspectives and contributions. Microsoft are especially committed to offering scholarships to those individuals from backgrounds that may have historically been underrepresented in the technical field. They also prioritize scholarship applications that demonstrate exceptional leadership work in the promotion of diversity in STEM disciplines at their university.

Microsoft Diversity Conference Conference Scholarship worth

Recipients will get a stipend in the amount of $1,200 USD for travel, hotel, and meal.

Also, Recipients receive paid registration to one of the following diversity conferences:

  • Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing
  • National Society of Black Engineers Conference
  • Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers ConferenceTapia Conference
  • Travel, hotel, and meal stipend of $1,200 USD.

These funds are not transferable to other individuals.

Eligibility  for Diversity Scholarship 2021

  • Applicants must be enrolled full time in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program at a four-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico at the time the application is submitted.
  • A demonstrated record of academic achievement/excellence. Because the scholarship is merit-based, you must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0, or a 4.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 5.0.
  • Show satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related STEM discipline.

The scholarship is open to students pursuing Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.

Level / Field of Study

Full-time students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program in any of the following disciplines:

  • Computer Science
  • Computer Engineering
  • Related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) disciplines

Host Nationality

This Diversity Conference Scholarship can take in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Eligible Nationality

Full-time students enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program at a four-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Can high school or community college students apply for either scholarship?

Scholarships are available to students who are currently enrolled at a four-year college or university.

What if I’m a high school senior who has been accepted to a four-year college or university?

Your application will not be considered. In order to be eligible, you must be enrolled full time at a four-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico at the time the application is submitted.

I’m studying at a school outside of the United States, Canada, or Mexico. Am I eligible to apply?

No, you must be attending a college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico in order to be eligible. We do hope to expand our scholarship program in the near future and encourage you to reach out to your recruiter to express your interest.

Can international students apply for scholarships?

Yes, as long as you are currently enrolled at a four-year college or university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico, and meet our other criteria for scholarship eligibility as described above.
